Taro Elf on the Shelf

Inspired by the popular children’s book, The Elf on the Shelf *, each Mikuni location will be visited by a Taro the Elf bobblehead. The first restaurant guest who discovers and uploads a photo of Taro the Elf will receive a gift card of an amount between $25 and $100, and will also be entered to win the grand prize. The grand prize is a “finalist” in a drawing or contest to win a trip to Japan with Taro in the Fall of 2015. Throughout 2015, Mikuni will host events and contests where additional finalists will be named until the final trip is awarded.

Within the two week period leading up to Christmas, Taro the Elf bobblehead will appear daily at one Mikuni restaurant location. In order to qualify for the prize, a guest will need to upload a photo of the Taro the Elf bobblehead to the Mikuni Facebook account or hashtag #TaroOnTheShelf within their Instagram or Twitter account.

Mikuni will announce the grand prize winner on December 23rd via social media and website.

* The Elf on the Shelf is a popular children’s picture book written in rhyme by Carol Aebersold and her daugher Chanda Bell, illustrated by Coe Steinwart, and published in 2005. The book tells a Christmas-themed story that explains how Santa Claus sends an elf to visit children’s homes in order to determine who is naughty and who is nice. The book includes a small pixie elf toy to hide around the house for an ongoing game of hide and seek with the children in the days leading up to Christmas.
